Job Description
In accordance with Clinical Learning department and Simulation Center needs, the Clinical Trainer will assist in planning and implementing clinical education for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta staff. The Clinical Trainer supports clinical staff training and development programs including but not limited to onboarding classes, American Heart Association classes, and clinical skills training. Provides clear, concise, constructive feedback to participants. This individual will also proactively support the efforts that ensure the delivery of safe patient care and services.
Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (pediatric and adolescent patient populations preferred)

• 2 years teaching experience in staff development, patient/family education, or community education
• Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuum
• Experience with application of adult learning principles

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Note: the BSN requirement may be waived with approval from the ADN Committee with a commitment from the new hire to achieve their BSN within 2.5 years

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (applicable to BSN candidates)
• PALS Instructor and BLS Instructor certifications within 90 days of hire
• BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire

• 2 years teaching experience in staff development, patient/family education, or community education
• Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuum
• Experience with application of adult learning principles

• Provides quality instruction, support, and guidance to employees in learning clinical content, clinical skills, basic life support, and advanced life support.
• Completes appropriate documentation in Learning Management System.
• Sets-up classroom and completes wrap-up activities as determined by course lead.
• Supports the system's educational needs by maintaining high standards of professionalism, dependability, and responsibility.
• Provides feedback to participants and leadership team on effective use of skills, when applicable.
• Assists course lead in the development of instructional materials that support and enhance the learning objective as needed.
• Ensures effective delivery of clinical training programs to satisfy Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, JCAHO, American Heart Association, and other regulatory requirements.
• Supports internal clinical training and development initiatives.
