Position Summary:
This position is expected to work on-site during the summer of 2024. As a Manufacturing/Operations Engineering Intern, you will be working with the Operations and Manufacturing teams to support in the implementation of projects that maximize up-time, minimize scrap, and drive continuous improvements and quality standards. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager with support from the Plant Manager and is based in New Berlin, WI.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
The Intern will work with members of the operations and engineering teams to develop and refine our manufacturing processes, equipment, and products to result in the following:
- Improved manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Investigation and resolution of identified issues.
- Improved documentation of Processes and Procedures.
- Improved process flow, productivity, and quality.
- New methods implemented to support new or changes to existing products.
Expected Intern Learning:
- Exposure to manufacturing environments
- Work with Automated and molding equipment.
- Associated quality requirements and inspection methods to insure product conformity & performance.
- Root cause analysis.
- Project management.
Job Requirements:
- Rising Senior (graduating 2025) pursuing a degree in Engineering (BSIE, BSME or equivalent).
- Competent working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Basic CAD modeling experience with Solid Works a plus.
- Previous internship experience in a manufacturing or operations function.
- Strong attention to detail, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn, demonstrated curiosity and a drive to excel.
- Must enjoy being hands on.
- Ability to travel to another facility in Des Plaines, IL as needed.
