The opportunity

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician II provides daily support to production personnel and processes, materials, and equipment to achieve production safety, quality, and efficiency goals. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician II partners with Engineers, Quality, and Production personnel to develop and implement improved manufacturing processes.

This is an on-site position located in Plymouth, MN.

A "Day in the life”

• Executes preventative maintenance and calibration for manufacturing and facility equipment
• Follows cGMP practices to document PM, unplanned maintenance, and calibration activities
• Promotes continuous improvement culture by contributing to resolving production issues such as quality problems, yield, and ergonomic safety issues
• Trains production team members on operating procedures and work instructions for new processes and equipment
• Assists Engineers with tasks related to developing and improving processes. This includes contributing to designed experiments, manufacturing sample product, perform testing, and documenting results
• Provides input and support for execution of Equipment Qualification and Process Validation Protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ)
• Supports Lean Manufacturing and contributes to process layouts
• Contributes to Kaizen and other continuous improvement projects
• Contributes to fabricating fixtures for production processes. This may include using a 3D printer, Lathe, drill press, and CNC or digital mill
• Contributes to developing PMs, equipment specifications, or manufacturing work instructions as needed

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or education/experience required
• Typically, 2-4 years of related experience, medical device experience strongly preferred
• Manufacturing experience with UV glue bonding, reflow, or assembly processes
• Experience fabricating, and/or 3D printing of production fixtures

Additional skills you have

• Mechanical aptitude to trouble shoot electrical and mechanical equipment
• Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities against aggressive deadlines while maintaining a high degree of quality
• Regularly, moving about to accomplish tasks
• Occasionally, adjusting or moving objects up to 50 lbs
• Occasionally, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Requires occasional travel
