Role Summary
The Manufacturing Tech IV position plays a critical role in refining and sustaining ongoing manufacturing operations. The person in this position designs, verifies, and integrates Surface Mount Technology (SMT), post SMT processes equipment, and tooling to support the production processes

Essential Responsibilities
• Capable of generating machine programs and refining existing programs for multiple equipment sets: SMT, de-paneling, conformal coat, etc.
• Support everyday production on the line: program & maintain machines and troubleshoot process defects
• Research and select technical reference information pertinent to specific assignments
• Recommend and implement engineering changes and improvements
• Monitor and maintain equipment to meet standards
• Interact with manufacturing and engineering employees daily to ensure product specifications are continuously being met
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance procedures for each machine
• Advanced knowledge of Wave Solder, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), reflow profiling, printing (DEK), conformal coat, and/or SMT equipment programming (e.g., MyData, Siemens, Fuji, Panasonic, Universal or JUKI machines, must be considered process expert on a minimum of one equipment set)
• Train, evaluate, and support others in SMT, and conformal coating standards while identifying best practices
• Implement and verify engineering changes, update all documentation, software, etc
• Analyze Gerber data and order stencils for optimum screening capabilities
• Responsible for revision control of program files and backups
• Install, repair, relocate, and/or troubleshoot equipment at component level
• Equipment installation, relocation, and interface with customer support to resolve equipment issues and down time
• Identify and order replacement and spare parts for manufacturing process machines
• Generate parts libraries for manufacturing process machines
• Other related duties or projects as assigned
Requirements
Required Qualifications
• 2-year degree in electronics, Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent education, and/or directly applicable industry experience
• 7+ years SMT Manufacturing Technician experience
• Knowledge of Wave Solder, AOI, reflow profiling, printing (DEK), conformal coat, and/or SMT equipment programming (e.g., MyData, Siemens, Fuji, Panasonic, Universal or JUKI machines)
• Extensive knowledge of CAD/CAM software platforms
• Proficient computer skills required
• Basic soldering knowledge ; IPC-A-610, J-STD-001
• Knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, optics, mechanical and electrical technologies
• Extensive knowledge of preventative equipment maintenance and trouble shooting.
• Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
• Extensive experience with assembly prints, BOMs and other technical data
• Knowledge of electric circuit boards, processors, chips, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
• Ability to read, write and otherwise communicate effectively in English required
• Ability to generate or adapt equipment and technology to serve user needs
• Ability to determine what is causing an operating error and what to do about it
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfaction
