Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing industry, is currently seeking a Night Shift Supervisor to join their team. The Night Shift Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating the activities of Production Technicians and Line Leads engaged in operating various machines to manufacture parts or products. Supervisory Responsibilities:
As the Night Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising 25 to 45 employees on the Production Shift. Your duties include overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. This role involves various supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and addressing employee concerns.
Work Hours:
Night Shift, 10:45 pm - 7:15 am
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Production Oversight: Oversee production staffing and work assignments to ensure production needs are met.
Deadline Management: Interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are consistently met.
Communication: Effectively communicate and escalate production process, equipment, materials, or personnel problems or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Continuous Improvement: Coordinate with other Operation Team members to recommend and implement measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality through proper oversight of the production process, advocating quality, and providing effective coaching.
Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to Line Leads, including job shadowing during their shifts and providing guidance/training on daily tasks.
Administrative Tasks: Complete administrative and recordkeeping tasks, including time and production records, and manage vacation/overtime requests.
Safety Advocacy: Ensure employee safety by enforcing safety policies and procedures and conducting safety incident investigations involving production personnel.
Performance Management: Provide performance management for direct reports, including clear communication of expectations, timely feedback, and employee development opportunities.
Inter-Shift Communication: Participate in daily inter-shift meetings, perform regular walk-throughs of the lines and facilities, and communicate with other Shift Supervisors during shift exchange.
Accessibility: Make necessary arrangements to be accessible by phone and email outside of set work hours to support the needs of production, maintenance, or direct reports.
Housekeeping: Drive effective 6S and general housekeeping practices.
Qualifications:
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
- Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic mathematical operations.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Fourth Shift Manufacturing software, and Kronos Timekeeping software.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current Fork Truck license.
