Purpose 

Operate equipment and perform tasks that support the various business needs in packaging. This may vary and includes (but is not limited to) operating the bottle roundtable, rinser, tablet filler, rayon inserter, inspection system, capper, sealer, labelers, coders, and packers, as well as the cleaning of various manufacturing equipment - as well as weekly majors. 

Essential functions

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following. Incumbents at any level in the job series perform the same or similar tasks. 

• Cleans all tools and work areas utilized by packaging teams. 

• Operates equipment (forktruck, pallet jacks) to move materials. 

• Following work instructions and bottling procedures exactly in the production of finished goods. 

• Identifying and verifying materials and lot numbers to be used in the production of finished goods. 

• Completing paperwork and following good manufacturing documentation practices. 

• Operation of the bottle roundtable, rinser, tablet filler, rayon inserter, inspection system, capper, sealer, labelers, coders, and packers. 

• Completion of basic quality tests, following established procedures. 

• Completion of cleaning tasks, including use of chemicals, hoses, foamers, etc. 

• Setup and testing of process piping, including installing gaskets, hoses, clamps. 

• Basic troubleshooting and mechanical ability, utilized to complete equipment changeovers. 

• Complete basic mathematics (addition/subtraction/division/fractions/percentages) 

• Ability to adapt to daily business needs; job requirements/areas worked in are subject to change as needed. 

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. This includes lifting trays from bins above shoulders.  

• Must be able to push/move totes of raw materials on wheels over 100 lbs 

• Consistently promotes and maintains a harmonious/productive team effort. 

• Contributes to the department team effort by helping the team achieve the results needed. 

Required qualifications 

• HS Diploma or equivalent 

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time 

• Manufacturing/GMP experience is preferred. 

• 1 year of related work experience
