Manufacturing Manager

Life Science Outsourcing, Inc. (“LSO”) (www.lso-inc.com) is a contract manufacturing organization focused on assembly, packaging, sterilization, and packaging with over 25 years of experience. The Company serves orthopedic, cardiovascular, diagnostic, dental and a variety of other medical specialties. Our unique model is focused on in-house end-to-end portfolio processes and service offerings with deep regulatory knowledge. This provides the agility and flexibility that customers need to accelerate their go-to-market launches while standardizing their supply chain and mitigating risk. Clients rely on LSO to perform all activities required to introduce their products to market, from procurement to final packaging and shipping.

LSO’s is headquartered in Brea, CA (North Orange County). In January 2023, the Company added its east coast facility in Somersworth, New Hampshire (formerly J-Pac Medical). We are currently seeking a self-motivated Production Manager with positive, engagement and collaborative energy to join our team and support the continued growth of the New Hampshire Facility.

The primary responsibility of the Production Manager is to coordinate the activities of the Production team to ensure attainment to production schedules, performance targets/KPI, and to provide guidance, direction, and leadership to the production Supervisor(s), Team Leaders, and respective production associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following.  NOTE: Other duties may be assigned.

• Supervise daily activities of Production Associates staff;
• Provide subordinates with appropriate training, tools, direction, and motivation to enable their respective success, and ensure that all duties are executed by the Production Associates in accordance with document work instructions and procedures;
• Assign duties and examine work to insure accuracy of counts, error-free labeling, in-process and final inspection of product, correct filling and packaging of orders, completeness of shipping information;
• Provide ongoing, timely feedback to subordinates regarding performance; create, present, and monitor any employee performance corrective action plans;
• Assist subordinates in resolving problems of attitude or interpersonal deficiencies through use of counseling and confrontational skills;
• Encourage subordinates to look for opportunities for process simplification and improvement;
• Ensure efficient, comprehensive training program in place; coach, mentor and teach Production Team and ensure the capability of the team;

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree or equivalent education and/or relevant experience;
• 5-7 years successful supervisory experience in a packaging/manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry;
• Exposure to ISO audit requirements and FDA regulations desirable;

Individual will need to sit (at times for extended periods) or stand as needed.  May require walking primarily on a level surface during the workday.  Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to store / relocate various components, finished products and/or packing materials during the workday.  Ability to lift up to 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques.

Work Environment

The work environment alternates between a traditional office setting and light production, warehousing, and shipping setting depending on where needed.  All environments are well lighted, temperature controlled, and contain good air quality.
