Description
Manufacturing Engineering Technician
2nd shift, Monday-Friday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Reports to Manager of Manufacturing Engineering

What you will do:
• Program robotic welding and robotic laser cladding systems.
• Specify machinery and equipment for new products and product improvements, as assigned, and oversee its installation and set-up.
• PLC Programming of production and support machines.
• Define manufacturing process and machine operating parameters.
• Document all initiated process changes (work instructions, routings, etc.) and maintain records of changes.
• Ensure effective operator training is in place for new and revised processes. Work with Team Leaders, Shift Leaders, and Process Specialists to communicate process changes.
• Construct prototypes for internal and field testing, as directed by Product Engineering.
• Perform process (new product and process improvement) testing and prepare test reports, along with recommendations.
• Render technical assistance in areas of design, construction, and testing of components and processes.
• Recommend suppliers and assist in qualifying new suppliers.
• Assist with PPAP and APQP activities, such as capability studies, PFEMA's, control plans, etc.
Requirements
What it takes:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of experience with robotic systems programming.
• Five or more years of welding experience.
• Ability to work with others, leading and participating in teams.
• Strong communication skills.
• Well organized and detail oriented.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work independently, with minimal direction and supervision.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
On the plus side:
• Degree in mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Journeyman status in appropriate technical discipline. Additional experience may substitute for education preference.
• Robotic Welding Certification such as Certified Robotic Arc Welding.
• PLC Programming experience.
• Machinery maintenance or tool and die experience.
• Experience working in 3D software programs.
