- Perform basic product and/or manufacturing designs.
- Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for products, processes, and equipment.
- Perform engineering change process as necessary to support existing products and processes.
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Ability to perform mechanical design calculations.
- Test prototypes and standard products and write reports to document the results.
- Categorize a wide arrangement of existing parts, tooling, and work holding.
- Comply with all Lamons company and EH&S policies and procedures.
- Maintains equipment & work area in a clean & orderly condition.
- Carries out job requirements in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
- Responsible for and the authority to maintain and promote a safe working environment in accordance with the appropriate EH&S procedure(s).
- Participates in actions which promote a safety and quality culture within Lamons.
- Complies with all Lamons Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures.
- Ensures compliance of the company’s overall objectives.
- Other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor and/or Plant Manager.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Excellent grasp of diverse, fundamental engineering concepts and relationships.
- Highly motivated and self-directed.
- Capable of multi-tasking and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents.
- Ability to work well within a multi-disciplined team.
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree for Design, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineer.
- Good working knowledge of 3D CAD, Solidworks, Fusion 360, and/or Inventor preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery.
- Compensation for the Summer Internship is $25/hour.
