Manufacturing Engineer
Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Direct Hire
Salary: $85,000 to $105,000.
Responsibilities
- Creates manufacturing planning masters from engineering drawings, and updates existing masters to the latest revision level, through DCNs/ECOs. Estimates machining/shop times for all operations.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, i.e. tooling requirements. Design tooling as necessary.
- Confers with Engineering staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Releases shop travelers, RPO travelers, and assembly travelers according to Production Control requirements.
- Identifies/implements process and productivity improvements in all manufacturing areas.
- Evaluates potential opportunities for manufacturing or testing automation.
- Creates rework shop travelers from I.R. requirements and ECO requirements; creates special shop travelers for tooling, engineering, and assembly requirements.
- Assists in software development and implementation using existing software. Develops procedures and methods to fulfill manufacturing requirements.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from a four-year college in a technical field; and five years of Machine Shop experience.
- Three years of manufacturing planning is preferred. Aerospace and hydraulics experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of manufacturing drawings, geometric tolerance, and manufacturing methods.
- Knowledge of inspection procedures and specifications.
- Knowledge of CNC machine programming.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing software.
- Proven track record of problem-solving, process improvements, and productivity implementation in a Machine Shop and assembly/test environment.
- Ability to deal with problems involving variable situations in a manufacturing environment.
