The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for engineering associated with the manufacturing process including developing a plan of the manufacturing organization. You will be involved in discussions with other functions and teams about improvement in processes, procedures and ways of working.
 

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Support the plant’s interdependent safety culture by observing and reporting safety observations in a timely manner.
  • Working collaboratively among the Supply Chain and Technology teams to develop new manufacturing, assembly, and test processes
  • Bring new ideas and positive support to the current manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing, assembly, and testing specifications and procedures
  • Implementing productivity actions to improve the process and quality of the production tools.
  • Managing multiple quick turnaround projects to facilitate product and process improvement.
  • Providing ongoing product support by identifying and driving product quality, test yields, and process improvements post-launch
  • Evaluate and disposition Quality Notifications from suppliers, QC, and production floor.
  • Investigate root cause analysis for trending issues at suppliers and on the production floor.
  • Support purchasing, machine shop, quality control team , internal customer, and outside suppliers with the rework instruction of multiple parts.
  • Develop and design various fixtures to support the assembly of productions tools in a safe and proper manner.
  • Utilize CAD software to evaluate assemblies and implement manufacturability improvements.
  • Maintain and process all production engineering changes.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a concentration in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 1 year in project management
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.

Desired Characteristics

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Elastomer and Material Science experience
  • SAP Knowledge
  • Experience with CAD software (i.e. SolidWorks or AutoCad)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.
