Job Description
Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer will partner closely with a fast paced highly valuable guitar manufacturing factory team for the successful achievement of KPIs. The top priority is ensuring the stability of CNC production systems and cells involving machines and operators. Support with SMED, set-ups, First Article Inspection and definition of robust poka-yokes will ensure process control and stability throughout the factory.
Responsibilities
CNC Process control sustaining (50% of time)
· Machine Set up support and calibration
· Process audits and First-Article Inspection
· Statistical Process control for key-product characteristics
· Material Review-Board active participation for disposition of defective material
· Tooling maintenance and calibration plan owner
Problem Solving and Process Optimization (40% of time)
· Body and neck program cycle optimization using Master CAM and/or Fusion 360
· Enabling program and fixturing standardization across HAAS and Fadal Machines
· Lead modification and/or development of new fixturing as needed
· De-commission of obsolete production systems and parse programs to new machines
· Design and implementation of new/updated fixturing, machinery and processes throughout the factory from Mill to Final.
· 8-step problem solving methodology
Training of new operators (5% of time)
· Train new and current operators on NPI projects and standard production
· Step in or back fill on production orders as needed to help achieve KPI goals
Future State Factory Design (5%)
· Evolution of individual machine operation to cell Operation in Future State
· Design of new flow and layout for Mills Future State 2024
Education and/or Certifications and/or Training
· BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
· Green Belt is preferred but not required
Minimum Professional Experience
· Min 2-year experience in manufacturing environment is required
· Min 1 year supporting machining manufacturing processes
Business Knowledge, Skill Requirements, and Desired Attributes
· Mastercam proficiency is required
· Fusion 360 is a plus
· Solidworks is required
· HAAS platform knowledge is a plus
· Fadal platform knowledge is a plus
· Tooling design and maintenance is required
· CMM experience is a plus
· Green Belt certification is a plus

· Industrial, Mechanical or Mechatronics diploma or equivalent experience

· General knowledge of woodworking is a plus
· Spanish language fluency is a plus
