Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer I plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless planning, design, and efficient production of the Company's equipment and manufacturing processes. Adhering to LEAN manufacturing principles, the successful candidate collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Checkout, and Service Departments, as well as Suppliers, to devise cost-effective solutions to design and manufacturing challenges. The primary focus is on executing solutions safely and effectively while minimizing waste across all aspects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organizes and leads Kaizen event teams.
• Designs effective internal Kan Ban systems to ensure material availability on a single-piece flow basis.
• Supports manufacturing efforts through the design, testing, and implementation of manufacturing fixtures, processes, and systems to drive continuous improvement.
• Utilizes value stream mapping techniques to benchmark existing processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Implements 5S in all manufacturing cells.
• Identifies opportunities for design or process improvements and actively participates in their planning and execution.
• Proactively seeks ways to reduce the cost of materials, components, and labor to assemble furnace systems.
• Documents all manufacturing processes and procedures in the form of written SOPs.
• Maintains production metric boards and production wheels for efficient communication.
• Assists the production team with troubleshooting fabrication issues.
• Stays updated with industry trends and developments through attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
• Assists with equipment analysis in terms of the risk of potential hazards.
• Contributes, as requested, to all aspects of the business to ensure the achievement of strategic and tactical business goals and objectives.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering-related discipline is required.
• 5 years of work experience in LEAN manufacturing environments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Solid Works & AutoCAD experience required.
• CAM Software knowledge is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Windows.

Travel Required: Some travel may be necessary for training, industry-related activities, or customer support activities.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently uses hands to handle documents, objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting requirements are up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment: Typical office and manufacturing environments; noise levels range from quiet to moderately loud depending upon activities.
