POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor or other qualified Operations staff, perform a wide variety of tasks and operations that are required to assemble and test electro-mechanical subassemblies in an FDA regulated manufacturing environment. Assist engineers on projects, repairs, and installations, as necessary. All operations will be carried out in compliance with GMPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), BOMs, and other LENSAR standards.
In addition to performing the responsibilities/tasks below, the Manufacturing Assembly Technician will need to demonstrate the following traits:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble and test components and subassemblies in compliance with set procedural guidelines, training, and timelines.
  • Maintain (calibration & preventative maintenance) and assemble all production equipment and tooling, as required.
  • Complete relevant paperwork following GMP guidelines and applicable training.
  • Assist in developing methods and procedures to control, improve or modify the manufacturing process.
  • Contribute to revisions of pertinent documentation, as appropriate.
  • Perform all documentation and clerical functions to provide the proper accountability and traceability of components and finished products throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Assist in training new technicians, as necessary.
  • Perform cleaning/ housekeeping duties, as well as other collateral duties as assigned/required.

Required Items:
  • Proficiency in the English language - reading, writing, and communication.
  • Must be computer literate, including ability to interface with computer systems. Must be comfortable working with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel), navigating through web pages and e-mail. Must possess basic typing skills.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a GMP quality environment, including but not limited to inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job. Must re-qualify periodically on all job-related tests and certifications, as responsibilities or qualifications require.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers). Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, mechanical drawings etc. A problem-solving ability and ability to follow good safety practices.
Preferred Items:
  • 6 months experience in one or more of the following: assembly, cable work, kitting, installation, electrical work, mechanic, plumbing, repair OR military equivalent.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee is frequently required to remain stationary. The employee is occasionally required to move about the facility. Occasionally, must be able to lift 45 pounds.

Air-conditioned manufacturing environment, biological labs, clean room environments and dark rooms.
