BR&T is seeking a Manufacturing Assembler Team Lead located in Smithfield, Pennsylvania. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas; pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean Methodology.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understands the organization’s vision, goals, and objectives; lead team to excel in daily performance and achieve higher levels of safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Facilitates daily plan and performance review with team
  • Leads with understanding of the BPS standards. Ensure team members understand key performance indicators and embrace the goals set
  • Aligns to strategic goals by working with team to identify ideas or projects for process improvement and all elements of safety, quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and people
  • Helps create and monitor standardized work for all the team’s jobs
  • Coaches team members on standardized work starting with on-boarding through daily utilization and including any gaps identified
  • Monitors the Line Side Control Center progress and problem screens
  • Works with fellow Team Leaders to improve performance across the value stream
  • Identifies roadblocks that are inhibiting progress; seek help from leadership and support, when required
  • Communicates performance and progress to team and manager
  • Encourages and leads a culture of continuous improvement and systematic problem solving
  • Frequently interfaces with team by being available in the work area
  • Supports and participates in improvement activities and involve team members in improvement activities
  • Assists in the elimination of defects through systematic problem solving and coordination with upstream processes
  • Looks up/reads and comprehends technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications
  • Works with chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes
  • Works around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring)
  • Inspects your work quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris)
  • Inspects to ensure First Pass Quality (FPQ) is attained per engineering drawings and specifications
  • Models a culture of One Team, Pride and Ownership of the product
  • Works in a hazardous environment (high noise, vibrations)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience reading facility blue prints, electrical schematics
  • 3+ years of experience with wire design, wire installation or in working with electrical equipment
  • 3+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools
  • Ability to work in a hazardous environment (high noise, vibrations)
  • Ability to recognize colors
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or License or Military Technical School equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience with specific specialized tools (e.g., electrical and mechanical wire crimpers and strippers, wire routing tools, accessing computer files, multi-meters)
  • 3+ years of experience with assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, and engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data)
  • 3+ years of experience with shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
  • 3+ years of experience differentiating production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the mission and motivation to combine the team’s energy and expertise to achieve a common objective
  • Understands the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance
  • Tolerance working with High Hazard Chemicals

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
