Outside Sales & Support/Field Sales
Who we are: We are a manufacturer’s representative agency providing the conduit of information between the manufacturer, the wholesale customer and their customers.
The agency doesn’t sell anything directly, but provides product knowledge, technical assistance and support to every level of customer so those customers sell and promote the products we represent. The products represented are typically plumbing/construction related, such as: water heaters, kitchen and bath sinks/accessories, shower doors, pipe fittings and more.
We work with the wholesale customer and manufacturers and cover Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana markets.
Job details Pay: $54-78k/year DOE plus additional commission opportunities, plus expenses (mileage, travel, etc)
Job Type: Full-time plus some travel, up to 5 nights/month
Shift and Schedule: Monday to Friday (typically 8-5, but some early mornings/late evening will occur but there will be sufficient notice beforehand)
Territory: SW Washington and Oregon, occasionally outside that area.
Background: Experience in the construction industry or building trades preferred with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
The Sales Representative is responsible for the sales activity as well as relationship building and follow-up for the SW Washington and Oregon territory. This position is responsible for identifying new sales opportunities with existing clients as well as prospects. He or she will develop rapport with established accounts by sharing manufacturer's information, providing training and supporting the customer as needed.
This position is made for a self-starter, someone who starts their day wanting to see customers, grow the business and who doesn’t mind getting out of their comfort zone. He or she will maintain and implement key customer plans, including annual territory plans and provide weekly call logs. The Sales Representative establishes meaningful objectives and adapts his or her style to the customer. He or she must have a good understanding of the competitive landscape (or be able to learn) and how to navigate it to produce results. The Sales Representative will be responsible for communication with the regional representatives as well as the technical departments relative to product or system issues. He or she is also responsible for activities within the assigned territory such as site visits, client support, administration of established product training programs in cooperation with manufacturer regional managers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Build and maintain relationships in addition to formally educating and motivating our customers to include but not limited to, wholesale customers including plumbing counters/showrooms, contractors, specifiers (including interior designers/architects/builders).
Comfortable with Microsoft Suite and be able to create and/or modify Powerpoint presentations. Become fluent with company CRM use it to update accounts. Connect with industry influencers. Creatively market yourself and the company. Must have an understanding and knowledge of the company goals and growth objectives. Monitor and review sales results. Work within organizational strategies, structures, and processes in flexible and practical ways. Arrange information and work processes in a useful and logical manner. Maintain a professional presence in industry and community related activities and events. Promote the company message and create confidence in the company's solutions. Communicate and liaise with manufacturers providing a transfer of market information, market requirements and technical concerns. Meets challenging objectives. Willingness to be accountable and measured on performance. Can deal with conflict, ambiguity and information in an appropriate and positive manner. May require additional functions as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications: · Knowledge of the construction or building trades preferred with some selling experience in the building materials industry.
· Good understanding of manufacturing and distribution methods.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Excellent listening and questioning skills.
· Resourceful, flexible, and adaptive-ability to work outside of the box (flexibility)
· Excellent organizational and project management skills.
· Excellent time management.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
The Sales Representative shall be in excellent physical condition as required. Specifically, the physical demands of the Sales Representative‘s job include but are not limited to: Driving long distances (must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation) Flying in an airplane Climbing and descending stairs Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via telephone, in person and in writing.
This position will require regular travel within the territory. Some after-hours meetings and weekend activities as required to accomplish duties can be expected. Daily work schedules can vary depending on circumstances.

Work Location: Remote.
-Office space will be at the employee's home and will need to be able to participate in conference calls uninterrupted.
-Samples, catalogs and other sales paraphernalia will need to be stored and organized at the employee’s home.
-Must be able to take delivery of above materials at the home office.
-Sales Representative must possess a reliable vehicle, and maintain in a presentable condition for ride-alongs with manufacturers and managers.
-Sales materials can include larger items, like sinks, and vehicle must be able to accommodate such items.
Work Resources: Laptop, printer, company cell phone all provided.
