Snapshot of Daily Duties
Manometry
- Conduct thorough assessment of patient’s medical status prior to manometry procedure and through the patient’s procedure.
- Independently perform esophageal manometry procedures, including nasal catheter placement, and associated documentation during procedure.
- Process manometry catheters and other equipment following appropriate protocols.
- Ensure safe discharge of all patients by providing education about manometry procedures and follow up care instructions.
Fibroscan
- Assure quality patient care throughout the Fibroscan testing experience.
- Provide accurate entry of patient information into the EMR and into the Fibroscan machine.
- Responsible for communicating to clinical manager needed supplies to complete scans.
- Perform proper and safe care and reprocessing of Fibroscan equipment.
The Must Haves
- Graduation from an approved LPN program. Must have active licensure and maintain licensure required. Membership in the state and/or national SGNA recommended.
- Must receive formal training on the machine from the manufacturer.
- Care and cleaning of the Fibroscan machine.
- BLS and ACLS Certification required.
- Priority setting, application of judgment, communication skill and tact, ability to complete necessary tasks in reasonable time frames.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduation from an approved LPN program. LPN is not required, however strongly recommended.
- Prior medical office experience/clinical work required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- One (1) year of appropriate clinical experience required.
- Prior Esophageal Manometry experience required.
- Must obtain certification to use the Echosens Fibroscan. This is a mandatory requirement and can be obtained after hire. A timeline will be established depending on date of hire.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy required.
