This position coordinates and oversees the internal work of the CCO. In doing this, the Managing Director must ensure that the center’s budget is maintained and sufficient so that needs of the programs and program coordinators can be met. This is achieved through outreach to donors, diligent record-keeping of donations, and regular communication with the CCO advisor and Student Senate treasurer to maintain understanding of the status of funds. The Managing Director must also work closely with the Executive Director to ensure that internal programs, development, and publicity match the community needs while fulfilling the organization’s mission.
Job Description
- Hiring Executive CCO Staff, including Development, Communications, Creative, and Events Directors. In addition, selecting CCO Program Coordinators.
- Oversee and manage the finacial health of the CCO. This includes applying for Block funding from Student Sentate in the spring semester and managing and tracking the yearly budget.
- Carry out Purchase Order requests through active engagement with programs and communication with Student Affairs.
- Attending CCO Advisory Board meetings and reporting program updates.
- Encouraging and facilitating collaborative events and programs within the CCO programs.
- Administer the volunteer.ku.edu website and ensure its use in tracking volunteerism. In addition, help coordinators and volunteers navigate volunteer.ku.edu.
- Attending CCO Executive Staff meetings.
- Meet bi-weekly with CCO Advisor to discuss internal management and CCO programming.
- Peer advising 6 programs and Events and Development Directors. Programs will be divided up between the Executive and Managing Directors with insight from outgoing directors and CCO advisors.
- In Peer Advising meetings, monitor and ensure program turnover updates are completed in a timely fashion and assign office hour tasks.
- Abide by the codes of conduct outlined for the Managing Director in the Student Senate Rules and Regulations Article II Section 14. Responsibilities of the Center for Community OutreachManaging Director, Article VI Section I. Renumeration, and Appendix B Article B.6 Section 4. Center for Community Outreach Advisory Board.
- Additional relevant tasks and projects as determined throughout the term.
- Must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours at KU.
- Experience with Community Outreach and service.
- Experience with programming.
- Prior experience working with and collaborating with diverse populations.
- Prior work experience managing multiple tasks.
- Experience working with finances. (budgets, etc).
- Previous experience working with the Center for Community Outreach.
