Managing Counsel, Labor & Employment Lawyer
What does a great Managing Counsel, Labor & Employment Lawyer do at Fiserv?
As a Managing Counsel, Labor & Employment Lawyer you will be an attorney assigned to Fiserv's Global Employment Law Team and will primarily provide legal advice to members of human resources and other key business stakeholders on U.S. employment and human resources compliance initiatives, including:
- Providing legal advice to Fiserv's Human Resources Centers of Excellence and oversee compliance to applicable labor and employment laws and regulations and leading complex projects in connection with company-wide employee initiatives.
- Partnering with Fiserv's Human Resources organization and other internal clients to implement policies and practices supporting compliance to U.S. laws and regulations.
- Drafting employee agreements.
- Providing day-to-day practical advice and counseling regarding labor and employment issues, including but not limited to leaves of absence, disability accommodation, wage and hour, benefit plan administration, immigration, and employment matters in connection with M&A.
- Assisting with oversight of the Company's complaint hotline and conducting high-level investigations.
- Assisting with Affirmative Action Plans and EEO-1 Reporting.
- Keeping apprised of changes in U.S. labor and employment laws that impact the organization and lead proactive, continuous improvement efforts in that regard, and provide foundational legal training.
What you need to have:
- JD from an accredited law school
- A valid law license in an appropriate jurisdiction
- 8+ years of labor and employment legal experience at either a law firm or as in-house counsel
- In good standing with state bar with no disciplinary record
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Previous in-house counsel employment and labor experience
- Highly motivated and organized attorney with the ability to set and execute priorities effectively
- Ability to work with a high level of autonomy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills and attention to detail
Travel required:
