Job Description
esVolta seeks a passionate and data-driven financial leader to oversee all aspects of the Company’s insurance as Manager/Sr. Manager, Insurance. The Manager/Sr. Manager will lead the Company’s insurance program for esVolta as well as its projects involving Property, Casualty, Pollution, Cybersecurity, Liability policies and help make informed and intelligent decisions about insurance coverages. The Manager/Sr. Manager will report to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiates and coordinates terms and conditions (e.g., coverage, premiums, deductibles, retentions) of all Company’s insurance programs.
  • Develops, implements, administers, and maintains the Company’s insurance programs.
  • Supports all esVolta’s insurance related needs such as PTC/ITC, Property, Casualty, Pollution, Cybersecurity, Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and any other insurance related programs.
  • Coordinates with esVolta’s parent company on D&O, Employee Liability and Cybersecurity insurance programs.
  • Manages insurance broker and underwriter relationships and serves as a primary point of contact with service providers, underwriters, etc.
  • Supervises claims administration, provides authority to adjusters, and directs funding for claims payments.
  • Coordinates loss prevention activities at project construction and operational facilities.
  • Establishes and leads an annual corporate risk assessment process to evaluate risk identification, rating and risk management plans and present to Senior Management.
  • Provides risk management and insurance expertise to all other functional groups throughout esVolta as needed.
  • Guides other functional groups on contractual insurance requirements, obtains and reviews COIs from vendors and counterparties ensuring contract requirements are met, and supervises required periodic reporting.
  • Reviews allocation and analysis of insurance charges among esVolta’s projects and departments.
  • Prepares data and provides analysis for insurance program submissions, audits, and internal studies.

Skills and Qualifications
· 10+ years of progressive experience in insurance property/casualty claims and policy administration, or commensurate experience in a related field.
· Renewable industry (energy storage sector) experience is a big plus.
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Finance or Risk Management.
· A deep understanding of insurance programs (captive or otherwise) is essential.
· Experience in a cross-functional environment, working closely with finance, legal, development, operations, and construction departments.
· Ability to present insurance industry trends for energy storage to Senior Management and recommend actions.
· Proven ability to lead insurance program and build relationships with underwriters and brokers.
· Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities and perform job responsibilities accurately while working in a vibrant environment.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to influence partners and key business decisions.
· Tech savvy with strong working knowledge of MS Office, including demonstrable expertise with Excel and spreadsheet analysis.
· Self-starter with natural curiosity, enthusiasm, desire to learn and ability to deal with ambiguity.
Compensation and Location
Compensation: The annual salary plus bonus range for this position is listed below. The actual salary and bonus offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.

Location
· Flexible, option to work-from-home with periodic office visits for in-person engagement or to work from company offices in Newport Beach.
· Requires ability to travel to company offices, project sites and business meetings as needed.
