Overview:
The Manager, Technical Operations Training, provides oversight of the Tech Ops Training Department, ensuring that effective aircraft maintenance training is provided in accordance with Company policy and FAA regulations, meets standards in safety, aircraft fleet reliability, operational and economic efficiency, and is consistent with the overall Company and departmental objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to the Director, Quality for the overall aircraft maintenance training needs of the Company.
  • Manages the Tech Ops Training Department to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, and coordination with other interrelated departments.
  • Coordinates with the Director, Quality, Managing Director and Regional Directors of Maintenance, Director of Technical Services, and related Technical Operations personnel, to implement and maintain technical training needs and standardization.
  • Responsible for assuring the maintenance training program manuals, maintenance training modules, and all related training courseware is current and consistent with Company policies and procedures, FAA guidance, industry standards, as well as all applicable state or local laws.
  • Responsible for modifications to existing maintenance training programs, including any necessary FAA acceptance.
  • Responsible for the oversight of new maintenance training program development and implementation in conjunction with all necessary approvals and acceptance.
  • Responsible for assuring specialty and targeted training to address noted problem areas is provided as designated by the Director, Quality identified through the Company CASS Program.
  • Oversees the development of Tech Ops training curriculums assuring they contain current and complete information and incorporate required Company training standards.
  • Oversees the scheduling of required and elective training modules ensuring sufficient training coverage available for all Technical Operations personnel.
  • Responsible for assuring all training records are maintained per applicable Company policy and FAA requirements.
  • Responsible to notify the Director, Quality (or his designee) of any maintenance training currency issues and related regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Responsible to supply the Director, Quality with any information relative to the overall effectiveness of the Maintenance Training Department.
  • Ensures Tech Ops Training Department personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform their job requirements effectively.
  • Responsible for Tech Ops Training Department personnel recruiting, hiring, training, and completing performance evaluations as necessary.
  • Ensures aircraft and personnel safety, and regulatory compliance requirements are adequately addressed by the Tech Ops Training Program.
  • Additional responsibilities for the position as may be defined in approved or accepted Company manuals.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Quality.
  • Prolonged work in an office environment.
  • Repetitive motion such as: typing.
  • Minimal physical exertion such as: pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and light lifting of boxes, bags files, and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs.
  • Computer work, in a typical office environment sitting for the majority of the day.
  • Limited travel up to 30%

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years airline Maintenance Operations experience OR combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing a training program OR background in adult education
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Strong understanding of adult training requirements needed to develop full potential for employees.
  • Strong ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively to meet given time parameters.
  • Experience working with all levels of an organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with focus on communication and problem resolution.
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Adaptability to adapt to rapid changes in performance of essential job functions.
  • Intermediate PC competency using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and general internet applications.

FLSA Status: Salary Minimum Position Pay Range: USD $70,638.22/Yr. Maximum Position Pay Range: USD $94,184.29/Yr.
