The Startup & Testing Support Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Startup & Testing Support group comprised of test engineers and subcontractors. Manages testing resources to provide successful startup, testing, and engineered equipment support for operating facilities, Project Engineering, and engineered equipment development.
Responsibilities:
- Defines objectives, develops strategies, and manages resources to achieve goals based upon effective interaction with management/customers
- Establishes and effectively communicates expectations to subordinates to ensure high test engineering standards and quality are maintained
- Responsible for staffing, evaluating, and developing an organization capable of achieving the objectives of the projects assigned.
- Manages commitments assigned to the Startup & Testing Support group via resource loaded schedules (e.g., Plan Of Week) and tracking systems (e.g., Site Tracking Analysis, and Reporting), utilizing the resources assigned, for on time delivery of the desired engineering product(s)
- Teams seamlessly with peer engineering managers to support the larger business objectives or major engineering issue resolutions facing the Liquid Waste Organization or Startup & Testing Support group
- Serve as Functional Area Manager-Testing and implement programmatic requirements.
- Certifying Authority for Test Engineer Certification
- Provides leadership and direction to achieve long term improvements for the scope and function of the Testing Department
- Provides guidance, direction and support to direct reports to resolve questions, issues, and other matters
- Active member of the expanded engineering staff, available for developmental roles and support of senior management objectives
- Other duties as assigned
- BS in Engineering or Science (e.g., Physics, Chemistry) with progressive professional engineering experience; or
- High School Diploma or GED with a combination of secondary education and/or progressive relevant experience
Additional Information:
- Post-secondary education may reduce the years of experience required for entry.
- This position may fall under DOE Order 426.2 and as such must meet the conditions of the order. On an exception basis, equivalencies for education and experience may be applied.
- Demonstrated ability and/or experience in leadership
- Level II or III SRMC Test Engineer Certification
- Extensive nuclear experience
