Form of work
Manage all aspects of a special funding line designated for direct support of student services and programming. A portion of this fund is reserved for use by the Division of Student Affairs, and a portion is available for the Student Government Assembly (SGA) to make recommendations for seed funding new initiatives and one-time expenditures. Work closely with elected student leaders to develop successful and sustainable proposals for funding, and contribute to the education and development of student representatives to better understand their fiscal responsibilities and resources. Work with student leaders to identify other funding sources when appropriate given the nature and scope of their goals and resources. Work closely with a wide range of senior leaders of other university departments and schools to stand up and manage new initiatives, integrate projects with existing resources and services, and assess the impact of new initiatives. Make recommendations to the Senior Vice President of University Life and other senior university leaders about the feasibility, scale, and duration of any initiatives funded through this source.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Ed administration, or non-profit administration preferred
Required Experience:
5+ years of progressively responsible experience with academic or non-profit administration or an equivalent combination of education or experience. Must include experience with fiscal goal-setting and management, and direct responsibility for a budget of at least $500,000, including impact assessment. Experience working in an advising or educational capacity with students or similar stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years significant experience managing budgets of $750,000+, demonstrated success in a university or non-profit environment working directly with student leadership.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent teamwork skills. Strong customer service skills. Ability to demonstrate good judgment and make quick decisions.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be well versed in quality financial data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
