We may not have all the answers. But together, we're getting closer.As the Manager, Software Engineering - Reality Labs Developer Tools you'll manage one of the 4 pillars within RL DevInfra. You will manage multiple teams and be responsible for Developer Environments, Code Authoring, and integration with Test Infrastructure and the CI systems. You will work across many diverse software developer eco-systems from hardware to game development. The Manager, Software Engineering - Reality Labs Developer Tools must be able to define and execute strategies for large, ambiguous areas in Developer Tools and Infrastructure and help guide their teams on how to maximize impact of those strategies by using data. This role requires the ability to communicate cross-functionally and build trusting partnerships with leaders across all product groups inside Reality Labs.
- Be both highly technical, and manage a team of managers, leaders and individual contributors
- Communicate across functions and drive engineering initiatives
- Participate in technical design
- Be a subject matter expert in the infrastructure domain
- Define and influence the Developer Tools strategy for Reality Labs
- Define and influence product strategy
- Develop and support processes to maintain uptime, SLAs and availability of critical platform components
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience hiring, managing, and developing both managers and individual contributors
- 5+ years of Software Engineering work experience and coding in one of the following languages: C++, Java, Python and/or PHP
- Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Developer Tools, IDEs, CI/CD, software configuration management systems and source code version control systems like Git and Mercurial.
- Experience in automation for consumer electronics.
