Our next Manager, SEC Reportingwill act as the enterprise-wide owner of the SEC and regulatory reporting requirements, including assisting in TerrAscend’s preparation of all external reporting including SEC Filings (10-K/Qs), earnings releases, regulatory filings, and other ad-hoc reports. This role will optimize the tools available to streamline processes in the quarter and year reporting cycles, and focus on continued process improvement to achieve increased results each cycle.

Where you'll be planted:
To be blunt, the responsibilities of this role are to:
- Supporting the Director of External Reporting in driving and executing the external reporting needs of the organization, and supporting the achievement of key goals and objectives.
- Assisting in the preparation of TerrAscend’s annual (10-K) and quarterly (10-Q) reporting process.
- Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Researching and staying updated on new accounting standards and SEC rules and evaluating their impact on the Company and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
- Partnering with business leaders and other stakeholders, such as Legal and FP&A to align on company directives and assess its impact on financial reporting.
- Seeking opportunities to streamline the financial reporting processes and implement as appropriate.
- Supporting quarterly reviews and annual audits with internal and external auditors.
- Driving intercompany reconciliation process within consolidation tool, and partnering with relevant business units related to unreconciled events for a timely consolidation and monthly close.
- Responsible for relevant monthly accounting and quarter-close, SOX compliance controls and processes, including posting of approved journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations.
- Partnering with functional leaders to provide visibility and understanding around financial drivers, fluctuations to budget, and accounting implications to operational decision making as it aligns with forecasting.
- Act as subject matter expert for SEC Reporting and actively participate in new technology implementation of systems in partnership with global Accounting and Finance teams including development of streamlined and efficient financial processes.
- Managing the completeness and accuracy of the SEC filings including on time compliance.
- Engaging with business leaders and providing guidance based on calculated and well thought out recommendations, act as a trusted advisor to drive insights.
- Supporting development and process improvement efforts in the Reporting function in collaboration with partners to continue to strengthen the function as we grow.
- Providing ad hoc monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as required.

- Bachelor’s degree or MBA, or equivalents, in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
- CPA preferred
- At least 6-8 years of combined experience of financial reporting for a public company and/or public accounting in a large firm with a minimum of 4+ years of the total at a public accounting firm.
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and SEC requirements.
- Ability to build and sustain strong relationships at multiple levels internally and with partners; high emotional intelligence and an ability to challenge in a nuanced way; influencing areas of the business that are not under direct control will be critical
- Knowledge of end-to-end corporate external financial reporting activities
- Demonstrated ability to work in a manner conducive to our company’s core values
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office including, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
