POSTING FOR UNMC EMPLOYEES ONLY
Responsible for overseeing and leading a team that will manage all functions related to the strategy, acquisition, and disposition of UNMC and Nebraska Medicine -owned Real Estate, leasing and lease administration for on-and-off site Properties and the acceptance, management, and disposition of Real Estate. This position will assume a leadership role that will manage a team of direct reports (Real Estate Associates) and external contract associates, brokers, consultants, etc. There is a high importance on the ability to continuously evaluate processes related to Real Estate to drive efficiency and innovation.
This includes supervising, preparing, and negotiating the business terms for leases and rental agreements, the purchase and sale of properties, easements, and rights-of-way; making and coordinating property management and operational decisions including budget development, tracking and tenant relations; maintaining all real property records; evaluating off-campus space need requests received from departments and other Real Estate related projects.

Proficient in reading, interpreting, and drafting contracts and other legal agreements associated with Real Estate acquisition, disposition, lease, and ownership.
Proficient in conducting and interpreting research around Real Estate issues, ownership, valuation, etc.
Knowledge of property management principles, procedures, and standards as applied to Board of Regent facilities.
Knowledge of Real Estate management principles and techniques. Knowledge of space and facilities planning principles and procedures. Knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
Proficiency in desktop programs including spreadsheets, word processing, database, presentation software, email, etc.
Proficiency in AutoCad skills.
Excellent communication skills – oral and written – to include listening and understanding others as well as communicating to others.
Excellent writing and formal presentation skills.
Able and willing to provide excellent customer service, even while saying no. Able to be persuasive with a variety of audiences.
Ability to represent and explain University and Nebraska Medicine interests, expectations, policies, procedures, and standards.
Ability and willingness to vigorously enforce agreed upon standards, policies, procedures, and obligations through direct and timely communications and actions. Ability and willingness to communicate unwelcome news in a timely and honest fashion. Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizing skills of own work and that of others.
