Job Summary:
The PCB Manufacturing Manger manages the daily activities of the Manufacturing Group Leaders and Manufacturing Associates in the PCB Manufacturing and the PCB Electrical test areas. This position develops and implements the initiatives necessary for manufacturing to achieve their stated objective of manufacturing products of superior quality and reliability, on time, and in the most efficient cost-effective manner and for electrical test to have the resources and capital  required to support the testing and programming of printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
Essential Responsibilites and Accountabilities:
  • Plans and allocates manufacturing and Testing resources to meet production schedules including the use of capacity tools in order to proactively plan for labor requirements
  • Manage, lead, and mentor PCB and Test personnel fostering a collaborative and productive work envirinment
  • Responsible for overall manufacturing workmanship which includes (1) ensuring all operators are properly trained (2) operators are working to the most current documentation and using the correct material and (3) all equipment and tools are calibrated as required.
  • Participate in new product development / trasnfer meetings to ensure labor and manufacturing resources are properly planned to support prototype, pilot, and production requirements
  • Develop and manage key strategies / programs to drive continuous improvements in defined areas of responsibility; provide guidance and support to staff as needed.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and condition of point of use inventory. Resolves inventory inaccuracies by researching and determining root cause and implementing corrective action, if applicable.
  • Responds to CAPAs generated as a result of internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for meeting manufacturing standars (efficiency and utilization)
  • Administers and enforces comapny policies and resolves any issues pertaining to policies
  • Ensure a safe, accident free work environment. Creates and enforces safe work practices.
  • Develop and administer department pay plans and budgets
  • Define and manage training requirements
Interaction:
Master Scheduling, Quality Control, Distribution Personnel, Product Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and other groups as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Strong Knowledge of SMT Processes, equipment, and industry best practices
  • Working knowledge of basic printed circuit board design and concepts
  • Working Knowledge of GMP and ISO requirements. FDA requirements a plus
  • Working knowledge of inventory control practices and manufacturing planning
  • Working knowledge of electrical testing of printed circuit boards, component programming, and Testing of electrical assemblies

Education / Experience: 
B.S. / B.A. Degree in a technical or business discipline - years of experience in lieu of a degree is fine
  • 5 plus years of management / supervisory experience with SMT printed circuit board assemblies and BGA Technology in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Medical device manufacturing is a plus.
