The Manager, Operational Merchandising – Contract Customer serves as a customer focused merchandising expert, supporting and resolving critical and complex Customer Success Team (CST) customer merchandising issues while supporting corporate initiatives that increase sales, profitability and improve the customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary point of escalation for CST inventory related issues – able to consider both the merchandising view and the CST view
- Supports and provides resolution of critical, customer merchandising issues to ensure on-time delivery of products to CST concepts
- Identifies and develops continuous improvement processes that improve Op Site operational efficiencies of inbound inventory and CST operations
- Assists CST with Field related issues in the following areas: Outs and Subs, Proactive Monitoring, NCOBs and Concept Specific Inventory
- Communicates with Market Merchandising Leaders and/or Regional Merch VPs to resolve pressing customer specific inventory issues regardless of order size
- Serves as the Merchandising SME for CST; bridging the knowledge between CST and Merchandising
- Coordinates with Training on best practices for CST and Merchandising; shares Merchandising knowledge with CST to support growth of CST’s understanding of true inventory management
- Responsible for supporting the implementation of corporate strategies and initiatives within the Customer Success Team and Field Merchandising that enhance the customer experience and increase profitability
- Accountable for end customer order fulfillment, inventory management with the intent to achieve established KPIs, i.e., DSO, Aged Inventory, and LTO and NCOB success
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor degree from a 4-year college/university or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of a degree sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions
Experience
- 5+ years experience foodservice management in foodservice distribution preferred.
- Experience in the Sysco field environment preferred.
- Related experience and/or training within a retail, wholesale or distribution environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in process development and cross-functional communication
Skills:
- Merchandising and inventory management experience
- Customer success orientation, understanding of customer operations and focus on growth
- High level problem-solving skills
- Business and financial acumen and tradeoff analysis
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
