LifeGift is currently looking for a Manager of Organ Clinical Operationswho is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, evaluation of clinical organ operations in the region of Houston, Texas. This includes an effective and efficient organ recovery process, quality process management, personnel management, accounting and fiscal management and conversion of potential donors to actual donors. Manages ongoing analysis of all members of the Organ Clinical staff to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of services and functions.
Do you possess the attributes to be a successful Manager of Organ Clinical Operationsand perform the following essential functions?
- Manage the organ staff in the assigned region. Responsible for the development of a consistent process for maximizing organ donors and organs transplanted.
- Systematic review of all donation activity on an ongoing basis to identify missed opportunities or opportunities for improvement. Critically examines and identifies opportunities for improvement and leads performance improvement initiatives in collaboration with other members of the organ operations team. Maintains documentation and resolves issues related to organ, tissue and eye donation.
- Develops action plans and metrics for performance to achieve organ operations key performance metrics to align with organizational strategic objectives.
- Ensure compliance with OPTN, CMS, and AOPO standards and policies as well as all hospital and state policies for donation.
- Maintain adequate staffing to perform responsibilities for the organ donation and recovery process
- Conduct at least monthly departmental staff meetings or provide a mechanism for appropriate and timely communication of Organizational needs to the clinical staff.
- Build and maintain relationships with transplant partners to ensure a high level of customer/partner satisfaction through collaboration to review performance metrics and on opportunities for improvement
- Establishes, nurtures, and promotes ongoing relationships with nurses, chaplains, and referring physicians.
- Attends and participates in appropriate hospital committees to foster relationships and develop a culture of donation
- Assumes AOC call to provide oversight of clinical staff to ensure adherence to all donor management guidelines to maximize every donation opportunity.
- Collaborates with LifeGift CMO to determine donor suitability and maximize donation potential.
- Manages the development and performance of the departmental staff to maintain a highly motivated and engaged workforce.
Do you have the education and experience to be a Manager of Organ Clinical Operations?
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare preferred, or clinically equivalent experience in the healthcare field.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a health-related field, as well as previous experience in a supervisory role preferred. Previous experience in organ procurement and/or transplantation preferred.
- Knowledge of Organ Procurement Organizations (OPO) standards and OPTN policies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, critical care, and organ donation process.
COVID Vaccination required for this role.
