Our client is looking for a Manager of Farm Operations - R&D to oversee commercial farms used to cultivate aquatic plants using the company’s new farming equipment and technology. This Manager will lead the operation of an aquatic cropping system that recycles nutrients from a commercial dairy farm.

Manager of Farm Operations - R&D benefits:

• Base salary of $90 – 130k

Manager of Farm Operations - R&D responsibilities:

 

• Collaborate with Engineering team to optimize functionality of prototype farming equipment Coordinate setup and commissioning of aquatic plant farm with engineering and operations teams
• Implement growing strategies and optimize yield with Plant Science and Engineering teams
• Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure regulatory compliance
• Conduct equipment checks and maintenance
• Supervise and train team, provide guidance and evaluations
• Collaborate with Engineering team to enhance equipment functionality
• Implement quality control measures and best practices
• Manage budgets and resource allocation
• Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance
• Establish vendor network in San Joaquin Valley

Manager of Farm Operations - R&D requirements:

 

• 7+ years of Farm Operations experience
• 3+ years of management responsibility
• Knowledge of crop cultivation techniques, pest management and irrigation systems
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus
