Role reports to: Director of Tax Planning for North America

Location: Skillman, NJ Kenvue’s corporate headquarters is currently located in Skillman NJ, but is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025.

Travel %: 10%

Pay: $97K - $193K

What you will do

We are looking for a talent to join the Global Tax team based in Summit, USA, as Manager of North America Tax Planning. The Tax Manager will partner with other functions to drive Kenvue business priorities and Tax Planning initiatives for US, Canada and Puerto Rico end-to-end regional operations as well as for the globally managed Innovation/R&D, Brand Teams, and Enterprise Functions. The Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing Tax Planning and risk mitigation strategies to accelerate growth, improve cash flow and manage critical drivers of the effective tax rate.

Responsibilities:

Regional Operating Model Design, implementation and Effectiveness:

• Researches, designs, implements and manages the regional operating model for North America including: understanding of regional functions and roles, recommending and implementing strategic regional model, partnering with regional business to evolve model with business needs, and ensuring audit readiness of supporting facts and documentation.
• Manage regional transfer pricing by monitoring legal entity segmented profitability. 
• Identify and recommend remediation plans for segments outside of profitability targets. 
• Ensure transfer pricing reports and audit support reflect business operations supported by examples and sustainable documentation.

North America Tax Rate Management, Optimization, and Risk Management :

• Lead regional process, review, and analysis for North America ETR, forecasting and tax cash flow for each cycle, including global functions impacting North America (KIF, Brand Teams, Innovation, EBF, etc)
• Ensure audit-ready documentation for global costs including substantiation of Charge In Charge Out model, associated metrics, trending and assumption support, consistent contracts and invoices to mitigate deductibility risk, and attribution of HQ costs.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with business partners including Finance and Supply Chain, Innovation, Growth, ESG, R&D.
• Partner to ensure efficient collaboration and delivering of Global Tax OKRs with Global Tax Planning team, Global Tax Reporting and Compliance teams, Transfer Pricing and Tax Disputes.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of global Kenvue legal entities and business strategies.
• Represent North America tax in regional and global projects/workstreams (ie – legal entity rationalization, IT implementations, etc), including articulating requirements and ensuring new processes and systems are fit for purpose.

IP Strategy and Operating Model Alignment

• Evaluate impact of Operating Model changes on current IP strategy. Recommend changes to IP model based on business operations, consistency, sustainability, scalability, economic outcomes, and risk mitigation.
• Parter with Tax Planning in other regions to ensure consistent definitions and application of various costs in the Operating Model.
• Analyze spending, trends and IP model sustainability over time including: royalty received versus costs incurred and sensitivity analysis of alternative model options.

• Educate stakeholders on tax implications to embed tax seamlessly into business decisions and ensure end-to-end understanding of our Kenvue strategy.
• Partner with Finance to ensure understanding of legal entity purpose and requirements related to legal entity accounting is maintained.
• Promote efficient, clear decision-making to drive forward aligned priorities. Escalate areas of churn to avoid inefficiency.
• Brings the Kenvue Promise to life.

Qualifications

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; Masters degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, tax or treasury roles is required
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to utilize other technology resources is required
• Strong analytical abilities (data, fact patterns, external tax/legal frameworks) and accounting
• Excellent business partnering and communication skills e.g., the ability to communicate highly technical matters to management, cross functional, non-tax personnel
• Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and promote innovation and continuous learning within the group is required
• Ability to switch priorities quickly and expedite key tasks to meet business needs and manage risk
• The ability to anticipate changing requirements and effectively plan across the enterprise landscape is required

• Experience handling multiple projects and deadlines with ease and tact
• Individual must work well in a team environment; be able to recommend and implement process improvements and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
