Collins Aerospace is looking for a high energy, dynamic team member for a site Logistics Manager role to support three unique value streams:  Cabin Integration, Lavatory, and Water Systems.  Responsible to oversee shipping process, receiving, kitting, ordering packaging materials, crating, Global Trade classifications, arranging shipment, and developing staff or other tasks assigned. 

This position will report to the site Senior Materials Manager and will need to be highly cross functional and collaborative with significant interaction with the Value Stream Leaders, Operations Managers, Production Schedulers, SIOP teams, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Customer Service, Program Management, Quality, Procurement, Business Development, and Engineering on a regular and frequent basis. This leader will ensure staff adhere to and participates in all EHS practices and standards across the site, including but not limited to proactive reporting of observed hazards and recommendations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self and others.  The individual must embrace CORE, which is Collins Aerospace Operating System; additionally, champion lean material flow and excel in a team environment with high-performance expectations. This role may be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the transportation and delivery of inter/intra-plant parts and outbound finished products.
  • Manage, coach, and mentors team members, and prioritizes and assigns tasks to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met.
  • Develop talent and ensure staff are engaged for career or skill development.
  • Directs the hiring, training, evaluating, or discharging of staff or the resolving of personnel grievances to ensure the effective deployment of human resources.
  • Document and establish procedures related to inbound and outbound processes.
  • Continuously improve upon functional procedures and standard work.
  • Initiate cost savings projects.
  • Partner with the Operations, Supply Chain, Program Materials and Site Materials Management teams to execute product flow strategies in alignment with physical and system (SAP) best practices.
  • Establish and maintain metrics for daily, weekly, and monthly logistics operations.
  • Facilitate daily logistics operations meetings to align on tier meeting escalations.
  • Ability to work with multiple priorities which could be time sensitive
  • Work alongside; operators, production schedulers, materials, and equipment to ensure on time in full delivery to all customers.
  • Communicate with our Program Managers, Operations Program Managers, and quality team as required to align on priorities.
  • Travel Expectations: <10%

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Leadership experience in manufacturing and/or logistics.
  • MRP experience preferably SAP.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and organization, with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to develop and champion an environment with high levels of Structure, Culture, and Predictability
  • Be a keen problem solver and enjoy getting to the root cause of an issue and resolving it.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, business or related field
  • 5+ Years of aerospace logistics experience.
  • 4+ Years of people management experience.
  • Advance Microsoft Office suite capabilities
  • Forklift experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
