Manager, Logistics

We are looking for a talented Manager, Logistics to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Components Business Segment in Florence, KY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Lead efforts within one or more logistics functions.

• Ensures internal and external customers' expectations and requirements are met while ensuring supply chain optimization.

• Manage daily operations across logistics functions to ensure a dependable and efficient supply chain.

• Lead continuous improvement projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction and leverage common processes tools, and information systems.

• Support Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and lead the cross Business Unit planning processes to ensure intra-company alignment.

• Mitigate long term supplier constraints by collaborating with functional stakeholders.

• Create common supply chain processes and procedures by establishing collaborative business partner relationships.

• Approach daily problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets.

• Develop, understand and improve necessary Key Performance Indicators.

• Analyze operational trends and develop corrective action plans.

• Address supply chain failures promptly to ensure operations stability; escalate as appropriate.

• Prepare and manage an annual operating plan including expense resources, and capital.

• Manage, coach, and develop staff; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Warehouse Operations - Utilizes warehousing tools, systems, and methodologies to meet defined metrics for inbound and outbound operations of a warehouse.

• Trade Knowledge Application - Applies knowledge of relevant trade regulations to Cummins processes and systems to minimize trade risks and costs.

• Project Management - Establishes and maintains the "Balanced Triangle" of Scope, Schedule and Resources for a temporary effort (a "project").

• Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Carrier Management - Supports and evaluates carrier performance through consistent monitoring of on time pick up, transit time and on time delivery measures to ensure fulfillment by published schedule and rated cost.

• Builds effective teams - Building strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.

• Mode Selection - Evaluates and selects appropriate transportation mode and equipment type by lane through shipment volume analysis against business requirements to provide optimal shipping method (balance cost, quality and time).

Education, Licenses, Certifications

• B.S in applicable field, MBA preferred

• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

• Significant level of relevant work experience required.

• Ensure freight management/carrier changes do not have a significant negative impact to warehouse operations and/or customer satisfaction.

• POSITION IS A FULLY ONSITE ROLE LOCATED IN FLORENCE, KY.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $100,000 - $150,000. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
