Overview
It is the primary responsibility of the Leisure Sales Manager to oversee the leisure travel market including travel agents, tour operators and wholesalers. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.

It is the primary responsibility of the Leisure Sales Manager to oversee the leisure travel market including travel agents, tour operators and wholesalers. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.
Specific Job Functions:
- Check availability and quote rates for International, Wholesale group bookings and additional group bookings with Ad Hoc
- Assist in the ongoing maintenance/development of all Leisure/Wholesale accounts
- Travel domestically and internationally and represent hotel at Leisure Sales related events including trade shows, receptions, client dinners and sales calls
- Manage Human Resource responsibilities for the department. Create and maintain a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance, feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction. Ensures departmental practices are compliant with company policies and legal requirements
- Oversee hiring practices / standards and ensure training programs reflect appropriate employee development guidelines
- Create weekly Leisure / Wholesale group specification sheets which contain all relevant information about the group including confirmed rates, group contact, in and out dates, special requests, arrival and departure times, and accounting breakdowns. Notify all departments by distributing spreadsheets to help them prepare staffing levels and for upcoming group arrivals
- Communicate and confirm receipt of stop-sells to stop accepting any new reservations to avoid over selling, issue rate revisions to slow down room pick-up and increase room block adjustments when more business is desired for all Wholesale accounts
- Maintain and update all Leisure/Wholesale contact lists and databases
- Conduct property site inspections / hotel tours to highlight areas around the hotel, explain what is offered in terms of amenities, guest rooms and suites, restaurants, bars and lounges, shows, casino, and other services
- Train and provide backup when necessary for the Leisure Sales Data Coordinator on office procedures, department coverage including answering phones, filing, and correspondence in accordance with general office procedures
- Maintain professional appearance and positive attitude
- Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Sales and Vice President of Hotel Sales & Marketing
Responsibilities/Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- Minimum two years clerical or Front Desk experience with 1 year in Hotel Sales handling Leisure accounts
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
- Delphi knowledge preferred
- Good organizational and proofing skills required
- Some travel required
- Passport necessary
