The Manager, Keck Advancement Administrative Operations works as a member of the Keck Medicine of USC Advancement team. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, the Manager works alongside leadership to implement strategies and advance fundraising priorities.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides high-level administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Keck Medicine of USC.
- Manages and anticipates projects; proactively takes the necessary steps to keep projects moving forward and resolving issues.
- Prepares presentations and works in partnership to prepare agendas for Associate Vice President as needed for various meetings.
- Coordinates and assembles confidential documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy; maintains confidential files.
- Works closely with the Associate Vice President for Advancement in preparing materials which span Keck, Health Sciences and University priorities.
- Prepares briefings as needed for Keck Medicine leadership.
- Drafts correspondence from Associate Vice President. May draft correspondence from other leaders as needed on a case-by-case basis.
- Regularly reviews and provides financial updates to Associate Vice President and others as needed and requested.
- Drafts and enters contact reports for Associate Vice President into Salesforce.
- Serves as a key resource for program information. Resolves problems or questions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or combined experience/education as substitute.
- This position requires an experienced professional with at least five (5) years of demonstrated experience in working in advancement, preferably in higher education or a health care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in working with a wide range of colleagues and leaders, including administration, gift officers, advancement services, and communications, preferably in higher education or health care.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with the principles, best practices and techniques relevant to academic medicine and university fundraising.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing strategies, policies and procedures. Includes ability to handle various special projects on an ongoing basis while addressing daily needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and accountability related to the planning and prioritization of projects, programs, and activities using sound judgment while meeting organizational needs.
- Demonstrated experience in working in collaboration with individuals and teams to organize workflow to accomplish established objectives.
- Proven experience in establishing relationships with key stakeholders (administrative leaders, gift officers, faculty, physicians, healthcare professionals) to move priorities forward.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must have effective interpersonal and communication skills to secure information needed to move projects and priorities forward.
- Must be highly motivated, thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be able to meet deadlines and goals independently.
- Demonstrated ability to work with various constituencies and colleagues on projects that require attention to detail, accuracy, integrity and diplomacy.
- Prior experience collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals with demonstrated experience communicating effectively with clinicians and faculty a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is $101,000.00 - $118,626.64. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
