Responsible for the organization’s IT Infrastructure support services, including management of the IT Infrastructure team. Establishes, plans, and implements the policies and procedures to support the organization and services. Sets strategic direction and evolution of the platform and its service. Provides technical oversight of the platform includes a scaling plan, failover and disaster recovery planning, and an upgrade/expansion path. Works with internal customers on engagement and leverage of the platform and planning for additional services to be provided as necessary. Has vendor management responsibilities for hardware, software, and services.
1. Provides a secure, scalable, and extensible environment for the continuous operation of our infrastructure and applications.
2. Provides strategic direction and oversight for the full life cycle of design, development, operation, and support of IT systems.
3. Builds and manages a team capable of executing the tactics for Infrastructure and Operations, and efficiently delivering new IT Infrastructure solutions.
4. Leads teams responsible for servers, storage, data centers, and cloud platforms.
5. Maintains data centers and environmental facilities including but not limited to UPS, backup generator power, fire prevention systems, and HVAC.
6. Identifies people, process, or technology changes required to improve overall customer service or support business growth and opportunities.
7. Works closely with other department management to determine requirements for new and existing systems.
8. Manages small to large project efforts using effective work planning and oversight practices.
9. Keeps current on pertinent technology issues through seminars, publications, and self-education on an on-going basis.
10. Evaluates and selects IT services, application software, and hardware products.
11. Identifies and recommends strategic directions based on technical changes in the computer industry.
12. Maintains and manages vendor relationships and contracts for products and services.
13. Supports the development of the annual Infrastructure Operations budget to ensure that it's consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise.
Qualification
1. Bachelor’s degree and minimum of ten years of experience in Information Technology or equivalent experience required.
2. Minimum of three to five years of managing a technical support and/or system administration team. Ability to coach and mentor staff.
3. Solid understanding of cloud deployment and operations.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present reports and ideas to executive-level management.
5. Experience in formulating recommendations and options based upon analysis, data and input from users, business unit management and other technical staff.
6. Ability to work with business owners as well as technical design and development professionals.
7. Experience managing vendor resources and relationships.
8. Experiencing managing and tracking departmental budgets.
9. Proven ability in solving work related issues appropriately and in a timely fashion.
10. Proven project management experience including planning, tracking, and estimating.
