Job Purpose

The Manager, Information Technology provides operational oversight for the Corporate Infrastructure and Support Teams for Med-Metrix and it’s subsidiaries. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of server, network, storage, and software within a WAN/LAN environment and is responsible for the reliability, availability, and security of all infrastructure and end-user computing. This position functions as a technical services escalation contact for IT Support and is accountable for administration, capacity planning, implementing new technology, maintaining existing systems, project management and IT security. Additionally, participates as a technical resource needed in both large and small projects. The IT Manager ensures infrastructure security and compliance at all technological tiers and provides guidance and recommendations as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day infrastructure operations related to computer equipment, data center, databases, telephony, network, storage and other technologies
  • Understand, document, and reduce technical and operational barriers using technology, software functionality and/or modification to procedures
  • Establish objectives, manage and provide direction for the Technical Support and Engineering teams in support of business objectives, setting clear goals, ownership and accountability for scope, schedule, and quality
  • Support staff by handling escalations and monitoring the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays and outages and quickly resolve issues.
  • In conjunction with other IT leadership, build a culture of “business-first”, pro-active cooperation, continuous improvement, innovation and exceptional service delivery across the IT organization
  • Manage customer service focused Engineering and Support teams that service both internal and external customers
  • Establish, manage, and evolve the appropriate procedures, SLAs, KPIs, SOPs and customer satisfaction measures that are aligned to business needs
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure appropriate levels of support while obtaining maximum value in the purchasing process.
  • Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by collaborating with IT management to define, deliver, and support strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Manage projects to completion by coordinating resources and timetables with internal users/departments
  • Preserves assets by implementing and supporting disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures
  • Recommends Information Technology strategies and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements and accounting for compliance needs and security best practices.
  • Participate in annual security audits, accountable for ensuring security controls are adhered to, systems are secure, and unauthorized access is prevented.
  • Work with other teams, partners, and customers to assess, isolate, and remediate system issues and deploy new technology as needed
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure coordination of production changes with minimal business process impact and adhere to Change Management procedures
  • Work to ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, SOC, HITECH) and consistently demonstrate understanding of security standards in daily administration and solutions as set forth in corporate policies
  • Stay abreast of new and emerging security threats and mitigation approaches for your respective area and perform periodic security reviews of your assigned areas
  • Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies and recommend solutions based on business drivers and efficiencies. New technologies should be evaluated and compared to existing or alternative solutions leveraging weighted scoring matrixes matched to requirements.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure roadmaps for all infrastructure technologies
  • Follow the systems lifecycle model when implementing, maintaining and retiring solutions
  • Employ project management methodologies for any significant technology upgrade, replacement or new solution
  • Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
  • Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of progressive IT Operations/Infrastructure experience
  • Experience supporting remote office environments
  • Well versed in a broad set of technologies including networking, storage, telephony, collaboration tools, service desk, cybersecurity, virtualization, cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS), etc.
  • Technically proficient with hands-on experience in the following categories:
  • Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Active Directory
  • Networking (Cisco, Fortinet, SD WAN Technologies)
  • Virtualization (VMware)
  • Storage Technologies (EMC)
  • Information Security Concepts
  • Experience deploying and supporting cloud-based applications and infrastructure
  • Excellent execution skills and organizational skills with the ability to achieve and measure results and progress.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, and be able to function well under stressful working condition with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to provide team leadership and resource allocation balancing competing demands and contention for resources while maintaining customer satisfaction.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and weekends as needed
  • Ability to be on call as needed
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area; Sit; perform manual tasks; operate tools and other office equipment such as computer, computer peripherals and telephones; extend arms; kneel; talk and hear. Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual labor as needed
  • Mental Demands: The employee must be able to follow directions, collaborate with others, and handle stress.
  • Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
