Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
Leads the Lancaster General Senior Services team in such a manner as to achieve clinical, quality, financial, and operational goals of the practice and to support those of the organization as a whole.
HOURS: 40 hours/week during day shift hours. No weekends, holidays, or on-call. It is important to note that there may be an element of local travel involved to meet with facility leadership from time to time, mostly all in/around Lancaster County area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Ensures appropriate staffing levels for the daily operations of the unit. Independently assigns overtime work to staff following established protocol. Independently approves PTO and other time off.
• Directs planning for staffing needs based on department policy in coordination with the Managing Physician.
• Ensures that operational practice standards are developed and met to provide quality patient care.
• Evaluates and facilitates process for improvement.
• Monitors and assures staff competency.
• Facilitates councils, committees, and task forces.
• Assumes responsibility for services when the Director Operations is not available.
• Networks with other departments, physicians, nurses, and other hospitals units to resolve issues and promote good working relationships.
• Functions as a professional role model and resource person providing guidance to co-workers in judgment, technical skills, and appropriate knowledge base.
• Participates in hiring, counseling, and performance appraisal of staff. Actively works toward resolution of employee grievances. Directs the interview, selection, and recruitment process, and directs efforts at maintaining staff and minimizing turnover.
• Collaborates with Director Operations on maintaining established safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Identifies educational opportunities and provides inservices and orientation as necessary.
• Demonstrates/models the hospital's core values and customer service behaviors in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
• Demonstrates effective leadership skills of delegation, organization, and coordination in supervising assigned staff.
• Coordinates the marketing efforts of the department with the Managing Physician, Director Operations , and Marketing Department.
• Monitors the satisfaction of referral sources and responds appropriately.
• Responsible for billing and coding processes.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or related equivalent experience.
• Three (3) years' experience in a supervisory or management role in a physician practice or related management experience.
• One (1) to three (3) years' experience working with extended care facilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's dgree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA) or related field.
• Five (5) years' experience with business management, coding and billing.
