Manager, Fixed Asset Accounting

Position Title: Fixed Asset Accounting Manager 

Location: Dallas, TX 

The role

The Manager, Fixed Asset Accounting role offers a motivated and energetic candidate the opportunity to leverage their skillset to contribute to the development of a growing global organization that plays a vital role in the success of the company's global development program. In this role, you will directly oversee a team of 2-3 personnel accounting for the company's Fixed Assets, including administration of the Fixed Asset subledger, while also partnering with project personnel to ensure timely activation of large scale development project costs.

What you'll do 

The Manager, Fixed Asset Accounting will report to the Director, Construction Accounting and will be responsible for the following:

• Oversight and support of general Fixed Asset and inventory accounting operations to ensure compliance with company policy.
• Ensure timely and accurate execution of month-end close activities.
• Preparation of monthly Fixed Asset roll-forwards, flux analysis, inventory reconciliations, and other ad-hoc reporting as directed unit leadership.
• Research and address out-of-balance conditions between Fixed Asset and inventory subledgers and general ledger.
• Lead, mentor and promote Fixed Asset and inventory accountants' professional development.
• Collaborate with global team of construction managers and construction accounting personnel in tracking key project milestones to ensure timely placing of assets into service.
• Collaborate with variety of business stakeholders to design and implement global process improvement initiatives to streamline the execution of Fixed Asset and inventory accounting practices and improve reporting accuracy.
• Partner with ERP system administrators to identify and leverage system capabilities that allow you to maximize efficiency for your areas of responsibility.
• Implement, document, and maintain internal controls and systems, including Sarbanes-Oxley 404 controls. Interface with internal and external auditors. Prepare/gather materials related to construction and cost accounting matters for internal and external auditors.

What you'll need

To be a good fit for the Manager, Fixed Asset Accounting opportunity, you will have:

• Four-year accounting degree and 4-6 years of real estate-related accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Yardi Fixed Asset Module experience is highly preferred, but not required.
• Experience executing monthly close efforts, including but not limited to preparing adjusting entries, subledger reconciliations, and other relevant tasks.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where deadlines are tight and priorities evolve.
• Proven track-record of developing and fostering strong relationships cross-functionally.
