Location: Based out of Cheshire, CT
Reports to: Director, Operational Excellence
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Facilities Maintenance:
- Develop and execute maintenance schedules for building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks with the maintenance team and external vendors.
Facility Planning and Allocation:
- Optimize the layout and allocation of office and workspace to accommodate employee needs and promote efficient space utilization.
- Plan for future expansion or reconfiguration based on business growth.
Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely and high-quality facility services, including janitorial, security, and landscaping.
- Manage vendor contracts, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the facilities budget, tracking expenses related to maintenance, repairs, renovations, and building equipment upgrades.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficient resource allocation.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Help EHS Manager to ensure that facilities meet health and safety standards and regulations, including fire codes, building permits, and accessibility requirements.
- Help EHS Manager implement safety protocols and emergency response plans to safeguard employees and visitors.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:
- Implement strategies to reduce energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation in line with sustainability goals.
- Identify opportunities for eco-friendly initiatives and oversee their implementation.
Security and Access Control:
- Develop and maintain security protocols, including access control systems, surveillance, and alarm systems.
- Collaborate with security personnel to ensure a secure and safe environment for all occupants.
Capital Projects Management:
- Help the Capital & New Product Development manager plan and oversee construction, renovation, and expansion projects for facilities.
- Coordinate project teams, manage budgets, timelines, and ensure projects are executed according to specifications.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Help EHS Manager develop and update emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure employees are trained to respond effectively to various crisis scenarios.
- Help EHS Manager maintain emergency supplies and equipment.
Environmental Compliance:
- Help EHS Manager ensure facilities adhere to environmental regulations, including waste disposal, hazardous materials handling, and pollution prevention.
- Implement eco-friendly practices and initiatives to minimize environmental impact.
Technical Systems Management:
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with technical teams to address system issues promptly.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of facility activities, repairs, equipment manuals, and warranties.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends and innovations to drive improvements in facility management practices

20% Domestic Travel required
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 35 lbs.
Will be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, pushing/pull, lifting/moving/carrying.
Must be able to complete tasks wearing appropriate safety equipment
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelors degree from a college or university and/or trade school preferred
7+ years of experience in a leadership/supervisory capacity.
5+ years of knowledge as a multi-craft technician in the following fields:
- Machine Systems such as Electricity, Electronics, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Motion Controls.
- Building & Facility Systems such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire and Safety, Security, Automation Systems, Elevators, Emergency Power, Structural, Environmental, Water & Sewage, Waste Mgmt, Grounds & Landscaping, EH&S
Ability to apply concepts such as probability, statistics, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
Strong preventive maintenance background in addition to troubleshooting skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Necessary computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
