Role Overview
The Events Manager, Special Projects is responsible for successfully developing and implementing a network-wide event program of large-scale, high-end event communication initiatives throughout the Americas Region. Projects include High Jewelry Events, Patrimonial Exhibitions, VVIP dinners, cocktails, product launches, boutique openings and beyond.
In this role you will collaborate with corporate and retail teams across multiple departments to provide the highest level of support in all types of network activations while always ensuring the Maison's image and communications strategies are upheld. You will manage all aspects of event implementation from event conception, strategy development, contracting/negotiating with vendors, and overseeing on-site event production.
The ideal candidate must have experience in planning and implementing special large-scale events and/or proven background of project management with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with ease. They thrive in high-pressure settings, have a great sense of urgency, are decisive and act with grace. They possess the expertise and passion to produce exceptional events and are always in search of excellence through the project planning process. They must have a strong understanding of luxury service and have the ability to be agile, propose creative ideas, problem solve and prioritize workload in a high demand environment.
This role reports to the Senior Manager of Events and is based in New York.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic special event programs with clearly identified objectives and goals network wide
  • Play a significant role in planning all necessary aspects of corporate strategic initiatives such as High Jewelry Events, Patrimonial Exhibitions, Product Launches, Boutique Openings, and VIP events
  • Plan, monitor and consistently update event program calendar involving key stakeholders
  • Create and manage budgets for Special Projects and monitor and process invoices to keep global department budget updated on a monthly basis.
  • Develop all components of events including concept, strategy, décor, menu, entertainment, models, etc.
  • Collaborate cross departmentally to ensure that 360 expectations and business needs are met; Incorporate feedback from all key internal stakeholders throughout the development process
  • Manage production companies, agencies, and vendors to ensure they are operating in such a way that aligns with the Maison's brand and image and that strategy and budget goals are met
  • Contract and negotiate with vendors to ensure best pricing, maximum performance, and completion of all legal documents
  • Develop network of trusted vendors and partners in key markets
  • Develop concepts that successfully tell the Maison's story and deliver on ROI and brand awareness goals
  • Implement programs on-site, seamlessly managing all teams and vendors
  • Compile event recaps and apply best practices and learnings to enhance future projects
  • Work effectively with all company levels from executives and senior management to outside partners and support staff
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree within a relevant area of study
  • 6+ years managing events and/or hospitality in the Luxury/Jewelry sector
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Proactive, flexible, innovative, and passionate individual that can anticipate event needs
  • Proven ability to prioritize while handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Keen eye for detail and organizational skills; planning and time managements skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with proven ability of creative problem solving
  • Strength in multi-tasking and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent budget management skills
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time, both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours
  • Individual with the potential of future development within the Maison
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows environment, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • SAP knowledge is a plus
  • Proficiency in CAD, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop a plus
  • French Language skills a plus
