Job Summary:
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the 24 hour, seven day a week functions of a clinical nursing unit(s).
What you will do in this role:
- Administers, plans and evaluates the activities of the department(s) to ensure quality patient care.
- Develops goals, policies and procedures, prepares and submits operating and capital budgets, participates in multidisciplinary QI teams, consults with staff, physicians and other departments as needed.
- Manages staffing patterns with the assistance of Assistant Nurse Managers and the House Supervisors on a shift-to-shift basis. Follows policies and procedures. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to facility standards of behavior
- Florida RN licensure required
- Associates Degree required, Bachelors Degree preferred
- 3+ years of RECENT ACUTE CARE hospital experience in the ER, and at least 2+ years of RECENT leadership experience in the ER. Ideally Assistant Nurse Manager/Manager candidates. * NEEDS EXPERIENCE WORKING IN FAST-PASED ER ACUTE CARE SETTING * Would like to see leadership longevity.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
Additional Information:
-238 bed hospital that has been in the area for 40+ years
-They are the only delivery-facility (like delivering babies) in Bay County so they have a very robust Womens/Childrens Service Line (Pediatric ER, Level III NICU, PICU)
-The hospital has been through a LOT of change in the last 6 months or so (New CNO, ACNO, COO, and CEO) things seem to be getting a little better I mention this because we need someone that is not afraid of change, has tougher skin, wants to promote positive change, etc.
-44 bed ER
-Reports to a Director, there are 2 Manager positions, then overseeing a team of about 70-80 (Clinical Nurse Coordinators/Assistant Nurse Managers, RNs, LPNs, Paramedics, and Unit Secretaries)
