General Description:
The Mgr EHR Applications -Ancillary provides leadership in establishing goals and priorities and in the overall management of the Ancillary Applications team. This position ensures continuity and alignment of Ancillary Applications with OU Medicine strategies, IT strategic plans, and facility needs. Leads the team in the deployment, implementation, and ongoing support of the EHR and supporting applications.

- Manages a team of EHR Application Analyst and leads the team in implementation and ongoing support of the system-wide EHR including staffing, hiring, training, and performance management.
- Assists in resolving highly complex issues regarding clinical applications, coordinates application testing, implementation of software releases, assists in developing strategies for training and tools for all clinical applications, and champions’ standardization, utilization, optimization and use of best practices in clinical applications.
- Participates in all phases of the system development life cycle including development of use cases and evaluation of software solutions
- Develops, configures, and modifies moderately complex information systems
- Leads team to create documentation of business requirements, current and future state workflows
- Leads team that designs, codes/configures, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains program/applications
- Coordinates all testing phases of associated applications during implements and upgrades
- Supports existing functionality with future expansion to additional areas
- Develops strong relationships with department leaders, end user communities, customers, and business partners
- Utilizes best practices for use within the organization.
- Leads team that provides hands-on training as needed for end users
- Serves as a key onsite EHR IT resource for facility implementation and support of a broad set of healthcare applications.
- Serves as project manager for complex projects
- Leads and facilitates the facility’s core clinical and business systems team on IT activities
- Leads team that provides second level support as a broad EHR subject matter expert to resolve incidents or fulfill requests
- Serves as project leader for implementations of EHR applications software releases and new products
- Works with the team to lead, monitor, and facilitate new module/application testing
- Provides input to policies and procedures, training, and best practices for use within the organization
- Works with the team and facility core team members to deliver hands-on training as needed
- Leads and/or participates in meetings as a member of organizational leadership as required
- Builds strong relationships with core customer base (nurses, physicians, revenue cycle, health information management, core team members, etc.) and facility leadership

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in project and/or team management
Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years of experience will be considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: EHR certification in related modules preferred. PMP certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position requires strong people management skills, personal drive, and the ability to see strategy through to execution. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills are required. Ability to manage multiple teams in a highly complex health care system for implementation and ongoing support of the system wide EHR. Excellent analytical, organization, and verbal communication skills. Ability to solve complex problems and understand customer needs. Strong understanding of healthcare business process and technology. Basic understanding of healthcare workflows and terminology. Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing a plus. Must be able to travel both in state and out of state on occasion.
