Manager, Divisional Asset Protection & Risk

What You Will Do:

This position provides evaluation, communication, coordination, recognition, and enforcement in the areas of safety, risk, health, environment, and Asset Protection on a multi-state, multi-region level. This position works with Stores, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Corporate management to control inventory shrink, reduce damages, improve gross margin, minimize accident frequency rates on General Liability and Workers Compensation claims, improve execution of standard operating procedures (SOP), and ensure a safe environment for our customers and employees.

What We're Looking For:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage Field & Supply Chain Asset Protection, Audit, Investigation and Risk programs (strategy, policy, and procedures) for LL Flooring' Stores and Distribution Centers.
  • Partner with Store and Distribution leadership, Human Resources, and internal customers to ensure internal policy and procedures are developed, improved, and adhered to.
  • Work with internal customers and Company leadership to develop loss reduction strategies. Conduct on- going risk assessments and outline corrective measures.
  • Monitor and report statistical data relating to Company inventory, comprehensive audits, accidents, injuries, etc., in compliance with Company and industry standards.
  • Review and analyze activities and records to determine compliance with LL Flooring policies and SOPs.
  • Review Asset Protection, Risk, and Audit reports and develop recommendations to reduce inventory shrinkage.
  • Initiate, conduct, and support confidential internal/external investigations involving company assets and associates. Support recovery and civil demands.
  • Assist with incident investigations; prepare investigation reports including recommendations on corrective and preventive actions; and monitor implementation.
  • Ensure Supply Chain and Store compliance with all laws and workplace standards.
  • Act as a liaison between the Stores and Supply Chain on all Asset Protection matters to accomplish LL Flooring shrink goals.
  • Participate as a member of the Distribution Management team in the planning, formulating, and implementation of the Distribution Centers' missions and goals.
  • Advise Distribution team on matters related to Asset Protection & Risk.
  • Monitor and control all in-bound and out-bound truck carrier activities and gate operation procedures for Asset Protection purposes.
  • Detect and resolve situations involving associate theft, abuse, or unsafe acts involving company assets, policies, or procedures.
  • Ensure that all physical security measures are in place and operational (i.e., alarms, CCTV, etc.).
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage Asset Protection & Risk associates in the Distribution Centers
  • Coordinate implementation of emergency response plans and act as Emergency Coordinator for the Distribution Centers.
  • Assist with conducting facility and compliance program audits and inspections.
  • Review/Report on inventory movement and damages. Support year-end inventory activities by providing direction and acting as a liaison between the stores and corporate
  • Conduct Supply Chain Safety and Incident Reviews.
  • Conduct and drive Safety awareness and training programs.
  • Support Auditors through Workers Compensation, General Liability, Shrink, reporting, Asset Protection Equipment, Investigations, and Safety/Asset Protection program support.
  • Review and manage Workers Compensation and General Liability processes and rates

Additional Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Wicklander-Zuwalski Interview/Investigative techniques.
  • Ability to train and motivate associates and delegate tasks and duties to staff in a complex distribution center environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and negotiation skills to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce
  • Effective people management, project management and time management skills
  • Navigate and travel independently; ability to create an effective self-directed schedule
  • Required to live within a commutable distance from assigned location
  • Ability to drive/operate a forklift required (certification required prior to operating equipment)
  • Proactively assist others. Step in and help when and as needed
  • Execute special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel 50% of the time in the field.
  • Ability to solve problems and apply creative and timely solutions.
  • Attendance and reliability is extremely important in this position

 

What You Need to Succeed:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in a role supporting distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and multiple stores focused on progressive Loss Prevention, Safety and Audit roles, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Certification or technical skills preferred: Interview and Interrogation Training, Basic OSHA Safety regulations, LPC, CFE
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Computer Skills / Special Equipment Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • SAP experience a plus
