The Manager, Technology Operations leads and oversees the technical operations of the Data Management Solutions, primarily built on Azure. This role not only is responsible for managing a team of engineers supporting a diverse tech stack, including Azure Databricks, Dataiku, Azure SQL Server, Moody GGY platforms, Oracle, and SAS, but it is also responsible for contract and license management of key platforms. This individual will play a role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and compliance of the data applications, while fostering cross-team collaboration with Business Operations, IT Product Teams, and IT Operations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
40% Platform Enhancement and Innovation, Incident Management and Resolution, and Documentation and Reporting
  • Drive initiatives to enhance and innovate Technology and Data Management Solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the technology stack.
  • Develop and implement incident management procedures to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to implement preventative measures and enhance system reliability.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for the tech stack and operational procedures.
  • Provide regular reports on system performance, incident resolution, and team development progress.
30% Team Management and Development, and Cross-Team Collaboration:
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers responsible for supporting Azure data applications.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the professional growth and skill enhancement of team members.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Business Operations teams to understand requirements and ensure alignment with technical solutions.
  • Work with IT Product Teams to integrate applications seamlessly into broader organizational strategies.
  • Engage with IT Operations to implement and maintain best practices for infrastructure and application support.
25% Technical Operations Leadership, and Contract and License Management:
  • Oversee the technical operations of Technology and Data Management Solutions on Azure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Manage and troubleshoot issues related to the tech stack, including Azure Databricks, Dataiku, Azure SQL Server, Moody GGY platforms, Oracle, and SAS.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to manage contracts and licenses for key platforms such as Dataiku, SAS, and Moody GGY.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and optimize usage to maximize value.
5% Learning and staying up to date on industry trends, and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work closely with Business Operations, IT Product Teams, and IT Operations to ensure a holistic and integrated approach.
  • Familiarity with contract and license management, ensuring compliance and optimizing usage for platforms like Dataiku, SAS, and Moody GGY.
  • Experience managing and developing technical teams.
  • Analytical and Problem-solving driving best-in-class user experience on supported platforms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective cross-team engagement.
Job Specifications:
  • Required education: High School Diploma
  • Preferred education: Bachelor’s degree in technology or relevant field. Advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
  • Required experience: Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible information technology experience, including 2 years of managing IT teams.
  • Required experience: Strong understanding of the tech stack, including Azure Databricks, Dataiku, Azure SQL Server, Moody GGY platforms, Oracle, and SAS.
  • Preferred experience: Insurance Business process and tech stack knowledge.
  • Required professional licensure or certification: none
  • Preferred professional licensure or certification: Azure certifications

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and
comprehensive benefits
including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
Salary Range:
$92,750.00 - $176,250.00
