We are seeking an experienced data analytics professional who understands the strategy and tools necessary to enable Abercrombie & Fitch to manage and activate customer data in our marketing ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a customer-obsessed, outcome-oriented visionary who can lead and inspire cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data and analytics solutions that deliver value and efficiency for the business.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the marketing data product owners who support email, push and CDP platforms to ensure delivery against our roadmap and value targets. As a leader of data strategy supporting marketing systems, you will be a key partner and thought leader to the marketing teams, supporting ongoing enhancements for Journey Orchestration & Personalization Platforms, as well as support implementation of endpoint solutions. This role is heavily cross functional, partnering primarily with our Global Technology team, Data & Analytics team and other business functions, to successfully translate business requirements into Data & platform requirements. Your responsibilities expand across global markets, with the local marketing and analytics teams being your key customer. Being a subject matter expert on AnF’s data, technology and analytics stack is going to be critical to ensure you’re able to provide the necessary support and education for the marketing teams

This role will report directly to the Director, Customer Data Strategy & Enablement and will have 2 direct reports.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Own and drive successful data strategy & execution within marketing ecosystem to support vision and roadmap
  • Ensure team’s data requirements and setup align with the broader vision for how we connect with our leading-edge cross-channel vision for customers
  • Lead engagement with markets as it relates to education and support of data and analytics tools and capabilities
  • Coordinate closely with key stakeholders within Data Analytics, Marketing and Technology
  • Support customer data privacy strategy, ensuring team remains in compliance, coordinating with Customer Data Consent and Privacy DPO before activation of data.
  • Supports team with backlog prioritization and grooming to ensure maximum value for the organization
  • Provide cross-functional leadership to agile marketing squads to deliver upon requirements (audience strategy and seasonal strategy sprints)
  • Manage and develop team of two individuals, helping to support and deliver against customer data strategy

Key Proficiencies include:

  • Deep experience in customer data and analytics products such as CDP, ESPs, Snowflake
  • Strong acumen in the CRM/ identity resolution space, including knowledge of advanced customer segmentation and propensity modeling techniques
  • Confident working in a fast-moving environment, with a willingness to make quick decisions based on continuous prioritization and evolving customer needs
  • Good sense of curiosity with genuine desire to learn and think with agility – identifying patterns/trends and applying them in new and unfamiliar situations
  • Strong knowledge of the burgeoning data privacy and regulations landscape
  • Robust collaboration skills, with demonstrated experience working cross-functionally
  • Understanding of cultural nuances and previous experience working with people of different cultures and backgrounds
  • Self-starter mindset with a knack for solving complex problems
  • Strong relationship-building skills

What Do You Need To Bring?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years in customer data and analytics space, ideally in retail
  • 5+ years working directly in ESPs or CDPs, Tealium experience a plus
  • 2+ years of managerial experience leading cross-functional teams and projects
  • Working level knowledge of SQL, Python, or R preferred
