Core Functions:

  • Research, develop, administer, and continuously improve technical healthcare systems and services to ensure technical performance meets organizational needs and also meeting Joint Commission and other regulatory and inspection agency requirements, guidelines, and standards.
  • Monitor requests for enterprise technology equipment and software. Communicate the status of the requests to the requestor on an ongoing basis. Ensure timely fulfillment of the request and timely delivery/installation of equipment and software. Manage approval of solutions outside of already established standards.
  • Provide Clinical Engineering resources to comply with the Joint Commission medical equipment management standards. Integrate management of biomedical and imaging equipment maintenance at all sites.
  • Provide Clinical Engineering resources to participate in the medical device hazard and recall notification program.
  • Provide Clinical Engineering resources to conduct pre-purchase evaluations, research vendors, assess cost of ownership, and other activities in support of biomedical equipment acquisitions. Provide Clinical Engineering resources to manage medical equipment planning for construction projects involving biomedical equipment at all sites as requested.

Background/Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in the technology field, clinical or healthcare field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years managing technical projects and applications.
  • Minimum of six (6) months supervisory experience.
  • ITIL certification required for current employees. New hires will be required to obtain ITIL certification within six (6) months of start date.
  • ITIL Intermediate Certification: Service Operation preferred.
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Tech (CBET) preferred.
