Job responsibilities: Directly supervises the career preparation supervisor, senior counselor, career transition readiness specialist, counselors and secretary. Responsible for the supervision of Career Support services, career preparation services, and career transition services, which includes counseling, evaluation of student panels, MYPACE, and other counseling programs.
Essential functions:
Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and programmatic activities of the department.
Evaluate staff performance, provide staff training and implement department and personnel changes.
Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting counseling, career transitions, and career preparation.
Develop and implement an effective counseling services program; perform periodic audits of counselor folders.
Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of service to students and prepare related reports.
Take appropriate steps to ensure that administrative procedures are follow, such as adequate record keeping and maintenance of schedules.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree, 15 semester hours in social services related instruction and five years' experience in counseling or related field. Knowledge of human behavior, individual and group counseling techniques, management skills and case summaries.
2 years experience working with youth and young adults.
A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
