Position: Manager, Business & Financial Analysis | Investment Banking Division
This position will supervise approximately 30 Business Financial Analysts (BFAs) in our Richmond, Virginia office and partner closely with our Banking, COO/IB Management and Human Resources teams. This Jefferies investment banker will either look to move into this role long-term or would be seconded for a minimum of 18 months.
Primary Areas of Focus:
- To establish an effective presence and credibility by building meaningful relationships with all
constituencies - To maintain a strong understanding of the BFA Pool resources and needs
- To provide insight and advice to all levels of staff to maximize client service
- To significantly enhance the development of BFA staff to support long-term career growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Spearhead adoption, implementation, and expansion of the Firm's BFA model
- Manage resource utilization (staffing levels, requests, capacity) for all full-time BFAs
- Facilitate efficient and effective use of our BFAs' time with regular dialogue between investment bankers,
COOs/Business Analysts, and Banking Staffers - Obtain staffing updates from COO/Business Analysts and Banking Staffers to anticipate staffing needs
- Identify group-specific training needs
- In collaboration with the Firm's Human Resources team, facilitate and ensure real-time BFA performance
feedback and robust performance reviews; organize and lead roundtable reviews - Participate in and coordinate recruiting efforts with interviewers and recruiting team
- Identify potential risks to the Firm and elevate to senior management, HR, and/or Legal as needed
Required Background:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Investment Banker
- Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Capable of leading initiatives, supervising a large team, and leveraging Firm resources
- Proven ability to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously, while maintaining strong
attention to detail - Ability to create and execute results-focused action plans
- Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as a team player with all levels of staff
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, handle confidential data and situations, and resolve conflicts
- Demonstrate professionalism, client management skills, and high ethical standards
- Passion for teaching and mentoring
- Live in or within commuting distance of Richmond, Virginia
- Ability to travel to other U.S. locations quarterly (at a minimum)
The salary range for this role is $225,000 - $275,000.
