Reporting to the VP, DEI/TA, the Manager of Business Resource Groups (BRG) & Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Experience will work closely with key company leaders and cross-functional partners to guide our BRGs to post-launch success by serving as a strategic thought partner and advisor while also providing oversight and governance as the champion for the BRGs.  BRGs are essential to creating an inclusive culture at Ulta Beauty and they do this by modeling for the organization what it means to live our core values. Ulta Beauty recently launched 6 associate led BRGs that reflect the diverse lived experiences and intersectionality of our associates who identify with the AAPI, Black, Hispanic/Latine, LGBTQ+, Veteran, and Women’s communities as well as allies who are eager to support and learn more about these communities.  More broadly, we are evolving to create an even more inclusive, end-to-end DEI experience throughout the associate lifecycle at Ulta Beauty, from DEI measurement and accountability to associate engagement and storytelling.  This requires an experienced leader who will assist in the strategic direction, execution of a multi-year growth plan, and intentional evolution of our BRGs as well as how our associates experience DEI at Ulta Beauty in alignment with our business goals and fast-paced growth.

 

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a multi-year BRG strategy aligned to Ulta Beauty’s business strategy, People Success (Human Resources) goals, culture and community building initiatives, and advancing corporate social impact goals.
  • Establish a BRG governance and intersectional-collaboration model that enables our associates’ success, drives business priorities, and amplifies our DEI commitments.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure our DEI efforts are well-managed, embedded in the organizational culture, measured, and align with our brand purpose.
  • Function as a subject matter expert and partner on DEI for business leaders and provide counsel for building leader cultural competencies.
  • Serve as primary advisor to the leaders of our 6 BRGs for inspiring intersectional collaboration, effective communication, and measurable organizational impact.
  • Lead planning and drive execution of BRG signature programs and events; track and measure milestones; manage key stakeholders; and execute communication plans.
  • Provide consultative support for BRG community concerns.
  • Manage internal stakeholders to amplify and advance the BRG strategic plans and enable the DEI strategy.
  • Collaborate with BRG leadership, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Communications, and HR Business Partners to develop and deliver BRG programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate regular BRG leader meetings and listening tours to maintain a strong connection to BRG leaders and communities for informing fact-based decisions and action plans.
  • Manage DEI demographic surveys as well as BRG engagement surveys, analyze and prepare executive summaries and insights to inform fact-based decision making.
  • Develop and continuously improve BRG promotional collateral, educational resources, and tools for support.
  • Develop metrics to measure the impact of BRG initiatives, maintain financial records, conduct post-program evaluations, and make recommendations for further improvements.

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE ESSENTIALS OF SUCCESS 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years leading DEI associate initiatives and/BRGs with direct engagement and management of BRGs.
  • Prior experience working with BRGs to develop objectives, define impact/measure goals and regular reporting to track results on investment.
  • Excellent project management and organization skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to influence
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead through influence and deliver compelling storis through data and insights.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing executive-level stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated commitment and passion for advancing DEI.
  • Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with long-term strategic goals and budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive associate and business information in a confidential manner.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

 

PREFERRED OR SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Some travel required.
